Does your smile make you feel uncomfortable? Do you have teeth that are discolored, chipped, missing, or unevenly spaced? If so, veneers from AV Sierra Dental Center in Palmdale, California may be the perfect solution for you. Our porcelain veneers can transform the size, shape, color, and spacing of your teeth.
What Are Veneers?
Veneers are very thin pieces of naturally-appearing porcelain (or a resin composite) that go over the surface of your teeth to cover discoloration, spaces, chips, cracks or even missing teeth. Veneers not only improve the appearance of your teeth and your smile but offer a strong and durable solution for enhanced strength and bite.
What Are Lumineers®?
Lumineers are an ultrathin, translucent, and porcelain veneer. Like traditional veneers they cover up stains, improve shape, and are highly durable and resilient. Where Lumineers are different from standard veneers is they do not require as much reduction of teeth in their application. Lumineers and veneers are similarly priced.
The Process for Getting Veneers
The process for getting veneers takes place over three visits to our Palmdale, California office and involves the following:
1. Your first visit will be a consultation with Dr. Oh or Dr. Couto to discuss what you do and do not like about your teeth and your smile. This visit may include x-rays and impressions.
2. During your second visit, we will prepare your teeth for the veneers by removing some enamel and buffing the surface of the impacted teeth. We will make a mold of your teeth that will be sent to the lab to construct your customized veneers. Temporary veneers will be placed on your teeth while the permanent veneers are created.
3. For your third and final visit, we will place the permanent veneers on your teeth. You will leave the office both with a new smile and instructions on how to properly care for your veneers and oral health.
Before the end of your last visit, we educate you on how best to care for your beautiful new smile so you can feel more confident than ever before.
