Post-Op Instructions for Fillings

Composite Filling Post-Op Instructions in Palmdale at AV Sierra Dental Center: After your filling treatment, your lips and tongue may remain numb for several hours. To prevent accidental biting or burns, avoid chewing and hot beverages until the numbness fully wears off. Some tooth sensitivity and soreness at the injection sites are normal. Mild pain can be managed with Tylenol or Ibuprofen (one tablet every 3-4 hours). Since composite fillings are fully set before you leave, you may chew once the anesthetic wears off. If you experience an uneven bite, persistent pain, or increased sensitivity to hot or cold, please contact our office.
